DC meets stakeholders on market, hydropower and Covid-19


In a bid to streamline the functioning of markets in Seppa, the district headquarter of East Kameng, Deputy Commisioner Pravimal Abhishek Polumatla on Thursday convened a coordination meeting with all stakeholders here and discussed about various issues related to markets.

In the meeting, the DC directed the Bazaar Welfare Committee (BWC), East Kameng Chamber of Commerce and Industries (EKCC&I) and individual shop owners to ensure that the drivers and handymen of commercial goods vehicles observe all norms on social distancing, face covering and sanitization.

He also directed the East Kameng Chamber of Commerce and Industries (EKCC&I) to prepare and issue color-coded identity cards to all drivers and handymen of commercial goods vehicles and to ensure to share the details of the drivers and handymen to police and district administration.

A directive was also issued to ADC (Hq) to prepare a plan for timely loading and unloading of goods in order to ease the traffic congestion in the market.

AE (UD & Housing) was instructed to conceptualize a proposal for construction of a model slaughterhouse.

DC said that a committee under the chairmanship of ADC (HQ) with DVO, AE (UD & Housing), EKCC&I and BWC would be constituted immediately for identification and setting up of temporary slaughterhouse.

DC also ordered immediate lifting of ban on importing of chicken (poultry) and fish.

EAC (HQ) and AE (UD & Housing) have been asked prepare a report on the status of DUDA daily market.

A committee under the chairmanship of ADC (HQ) with EKCC&I and BWC would be constituted, which will review and prepare a chart of commodities rates at the latest by 6th July, 2020.

The DC further urged all stakeholders to cooperate and support the district administration for socio-economic development of the district.

SP Piyush Fulzele, ADC (HQ) Dahey Sangno, EAC (HQ) Ashok Tajo, DVO Dr Magen Modi, AE Genden Tsering, Er EKCC&I President Tasang Taku, BWC Secretary Kaku Welly, DUDA market chairman and host of government officials were also present and took part in the discussion.

Later in the day, DC also convened a meeting with the Hydropower department and reviewed status of all hydroelectric projects in the district. He directed the department to make the Pacha hydel functional by 15th July, 2020.

In a meeting on COVID-19 pandemic, DC directed for more orientation trainings to health and sanitation workers and suggested for proper segregation of all inmates according to the collection of samples in the quarantine facilities. He directed for timely compilation and submission of all reports.

ADC (HQ) and EAC (HQ) were respectively assigned to look after the task of clinical and non-clinical aspects related to COVID-19 management.

Appreciating all the officials engaged in Covid duty for their dedication towards fight against corona, DC urged them to work with same zeal and enthusiasm and exhorted them to follow strictly all the measures as prescribed in SOPs and guidelines related to Covid management while performing their assigned tasks. He strongly cautioned against any kind of dereliction and negligence of duties.

The DC also suggested for conduct of regular review meetings on COVID-19 management.

ADC (HQ), EAC (HQ), DMO and host of nodal officers, assistant nodal officers and health officials were also present in the meeting.
