ITANAGAR, FEB 18:
The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has suggested the state government to introduce and implement 33 percent job reservation in government sector in the state.
Participating in the first Pre-Budget Consultative Meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein at State Civil Secretariat, Itanagar on Monday, the APSCW also suggested granting of special scholarship schemes for Higher & Technical education for girl child and also provide soft loans for unemployed women. It also suggested providing free and compulsory education for girl child till graduation in the state.
Other key suggestions put forward by APSCW for the ensuing State Budget include establishment of separate Maternity Hospital, Family Court, Women Development Corporation (WDC), separate women police stations, Appointment of Independent Protection Officer under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (PWDV), allocation of adequate funds and allotment of Independent Head of Account for APSCW.
Improvement of Infrastructure at Mental Hospital, Midpu, Setting up of Fast Track Court and a Forensic Laboratory, Installation of CCTV cameras, Construction of Working Women Hostels in every district headquarter, Special housing schemes for widows and single women, Immediate steps to tackle drugs, opium and alcohol menace, Creation of adequate posts in APSCW, Enhancement of grant-in-aid to the Commission and Fund for immediate restoration of the existing office building of APSCW were other suggestions put forward by APSCW delegation during the consultative meeting.
