Refrain from unwanted social activities: DC to students


Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare Pige Ligu inaugurated Student Police Cadet (SPC) programme in the presence of Superintendent of Police Jimmy Chiram, IPS, DDSE, Yupia, Principal GHSS, Doimukh, Head Master GSS Mani, RGU, teachers, students and police personnel at Govt Secondary School, Mani today on Friday.

The DC while addressing on the occasion said the SPC project envisages inculcating discipline and civic sense among the students through Police-Student interaction programme. He exhorted the students to take full advantage of the programme and refrain from wasting time in unwanted social activities which are detrimental to their career. He said that through SPC, students will be imparted to be disciplined and hard work to become a good citizen.

The DC also requested the Police department to create more awareness on traffic rules and drug addiction during SPC programme in school.

Superintendent of Police Papum Pare (Rural) Jimmy Chiram, IPS said that SPC aims to building bridge between police and public through school children and it will enable the young minds to explore various facets of law besides letting them to know about role and responsibilities of police along with inculcating a sense of discipline and responsibility towards society.

The SP added that it will not only help in developing the personalities of students but will go a long way in securing the future of younger generations. DDSE, Yupia and Headmaster GSS Mani also spoke on the occasion.

In Papum Pare district, GHSS Doimukh, GSS Mani and RGU have been initially selected for conducting SPC programme.

Students will be given training on crime prevention and control and values and ethics. DIPRO
