MWS celebrates its 50th Foundation Day

YINGKIONG, DEC 14:

Modi Welfare Society (MWS) celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Friday at Millang Upper Siang.

MWS was formed on 13th December in1969 at Millang village.

Mariyang-Geku MLA Kanggong Taku who graced the occasion as chief guest in his address congratulated the members of Modi families for their sustained efforts in upholding peace, kinship ties and social values in society.

Terming the occasion as the glorious day, the MLA appreciated the exemplary initiatives of MWS for adopting Upper Primary School, Millang which has produced brilliant students like Dr Ojing Dameng, IRS (2018 batch).

Taku also assured to construct Modi Musup followed by Ringkiong Musup, Gamno Langkam Musup and Moying Musup. He also felicitated meritorious students of Modi society.

Dr Milorai Modi, President, MWS and Otem Modi, Secretary General, MWS expressed their gratitude to the chief guest for his participation on the occasion.

On Saturday, the MWS also conducted mass social service to mark their participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The programme was followed by literary competition, cultural activities and traditional games and sports. DIPRO
