The Indigenous Faith Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety at Nirjuli on December 1 last. Organized by the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society (IFCSAP), the day-long celebration started with a vehicle rally from R K Mission Helipad, Ganga and culminated at Nyikum Niya Ground, Nirjuli.
Er Tumke Bagra, Minister Industries, Skill Development, Textile & Handicraft, Trade & Commerce, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh (GoAP) attended the programme as chief guest while Prof Dr H S Yadav, Director NERIST, Nirjuli was the guest of honour. Mipu Sora Ori, President Women Wing, Galo Welfare Society (GWS) also attended the occasion as special guest.
Various indigenous prayer centres like Meder Nello, Nyedar Namlo, Kargu Gamgi, Donyi-Polo Gangging, Donyi Polo Mandir and also from Tagin Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society as well as Mikir tribe of Kokila, Hollongi presented colourful cultural items on the occasion.
