The State level Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2.0 was launched today by Director of Health Services Dr Moromor Lego here at Naharlagun helipad near Borum Bridge.
While launching the campaign, Dr Lego appealed all the parents of the state to come forward and get full immunization to their children so as to protect the children from vaccine preventable diseases.
He also reiterated the need to accelerate the process of achieving 90 percent immunization coverage in the state by reaching out to unreached and motivating them to get the full immunization.
Meanwhile, he sought support of everyone for the success IMI 2.0 that will run for 4 months, 7 days a month from December 2019 and specially stressed upon to motivate field level worker for effective implementation of the program in unreached areas.
Dr D Padung No (NHM) cum SIO informed that this mission will entirely focus to cover left-out and drop out 0-2 year age group children including pregnant women. While informing about the current full immunization coverage of 78 percent in the state, he said there are children who are yet to be immunized through IMI 2.0 and regular routine immunization sessions.
DMO Itanagar Capital Complex Dr Mandip Perme, encouraged all the health official, ASHAs ANM and AWW to work sincerely to achieve the set target and create general awareness among the public.
The IMI 2.0 drive will consist of four rounds for seven working days for consecutive months from 1st December, 2019 to 4th March, 2020. After the completion of proposed four rounds, the state will undertake measure to sustain the gain from IMI 2.0 and the sustainability of IMI will be assured through monitoring and evaluation survey.
The launching programme was attended by SPOs and Nodal officers and health staff from Itanagar capital Complex.
At Doimukh, Alo Libang, Minister, Health & Family Welfare, WCD and SJETA launched the IMI 2.0 at CHC Doimukh. On the occasion, he also administered OPV to the beneficiaries.
Dr Subu Tasso Kampu, DMO, Papum Pare district presented the welcome address and the objectives of the programme. She informed that Papum pare is an IMI district because the district could not reach the immunization target coverage of 90 percent. She said IMI 2.0 aims to cover all the drop-outs, missed-outs and refusal children and pregnant women and achieve the target by end of the campaign.
The DMO added that to achieve the target everyone has to own the programme and perform the activities sincerely and dedicatedly.
The district has identified 133 children, 36 pregnant women as targeted beneficiary involving 25 nurses in 55 IMI sessions in this round. The IMI 2.0 will continue up to March 2020 which will be conducted a week every month. IMI is basically about augmentation of routine immunization activity.
