YACHULI, DEC 2:
Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and DD Tage Taki today informed that the state government is going to revive Arunachal Pradesh Marketing Board to support the farmers of the state.
The Minister was addressing a gathering here on Monday while inaugurating the office of the Subansiri Spice and Agro & Producer Company limited (SSAPC).
While attending the event as Chief Guest, Taki extended best wishes to the members of Subansiri Spice and Agro & Producer Company. He also opined that such an initiative will help the farmers to share ideas for better production and for better marketing of their products. The Minister also asserted that state government is endorsing Organic farming in the state for which check gates will be activated in different entry points of the state, so that no contaminated seeds, plants or even animals without approval from vets will be allowed to enter in the state.
Further, he also divulged that the department is going to provide subsidies in pig farming, poultry farming, and others to encourage the farmers. However, the department will also engage officers from concerned department to have filed visits and surprise checking in every eight months, Taki said.
While responding to the memorandum submitted by the SSAPC, the Minister informed that the government is going to install Electric Dryer Machine (EDM) in every district headquarters and godown for food products. On the requirement of a Grading Machine, Taki assured to look into the matter.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Managing Director (CMD) SSAPC, Debia Sanka informed that the said company was formed to support the progressive farmers of the state. Our land is fertile and we get surplus production but the problem is marketing, so the SSAPC will create a platform for the farmers to get the right margin for their products through marketing, packaging and exporting. There are more than 28 Framer Interested Group (FIG) associated with this company from Lower Subansiri, Kra Dadi, and Kamle district, she said
Meanwhile, she also appealed other FIG of the state to join the company for a better market and for a better margin of their products
Among others, ADC Yachuli- JT Obi, Assistant Director-Spice Board of India (Lower Subansiri)-SS Biju, Branch Manager-Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank-Toko Nechi, Horticulture Development Officer, Lower Subansiri- Tasso Yallu and Deputy Director of Agriculture-Naharlagun- TD Neckom also spoke the occasion.
