ITANAGAR, OCT 18:
Governor Brig (Dr) B D Mishra (Retd) presented the Bharat Scouts and Guides Rajya Puraskar to 30 Scouts and 19 Guides from different schools of the State here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor congratulated the awardees and exhorted them to work hard to excel in life. He also applauded the trainers and officials for guiding the students.
The Governor said that Bharat Scouts and Guides Organization helps in capacity building and enhance the potential of the students. He commended the Scouts and Guides activities in Arunachal and expressed his confidence that it will continue to have positive impact in the growth and development of the youth of the state.
Reminding the Scouts and Guides of the Scouts and Guides Laws, the Governor advised the Scouts and Guides to actively participate in cleanliness works, take tuition of children from weaker section of the society, impart first aid trainings to other students, volunteer for social service and blood donation camps and strive to protect the flora and fauna. He advised the Scouts and Guides to sensitize social issues to promote amity and goodwill in the society.
Whatever you do, do with spirit of transparency, accountability, continuity, honesty, review and audit and wherever required mid-course correction. Any society will progress, when these values are instilled amongst the young children, he said.
The Scouts and Guides presented cultural programmes depicting the cultural heritage of Arunachal and national integration. A demonstration on first aid was also conducted by the scouts and guides. A brief report of scouts and guides activities was also presented by State Guide Organizer Officer Ms C Lowang.
First Lady of the State Neelam Misra, Education Minister Er Taba Tedir, Secretary Education, Ms Niharika Rai, IAS and Director, Secondary Education cum ex-officio State Chief Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides, Arunachal Pradesh Gania Leij, were present on the occasion. (PRO)
