Pham Kho Sowai celebrated

THRIZINO, SEP 10:

Pham Kho Sowai, the main festival of Bugun community was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour here today at the general ground.

Addressing the gathering, Kalaktang MLA Dorjee Wangdi Karma emphasised on the need for preserving our rich traditional diversity and traditional attire which reflects the identity of different tribal communities in the state.

He also urged upon all to maintain the dignity and enthusiasm of celebrating such festivals.

Festival committee s chief patron and Thrizino MLA Kumsi Sidisow in his address lauded the state s ethnic diversity in tribal culture and advocated for unity in diversity.

While welcoming the huge gathering on the occasion attended by people of various tribal communities Sidisow thanked them for their respect towards the Bugun community and appealed them to maintain such relationship for a peaceful coexistence of various communities in different parts of the state.

He said festivals also remind us about our deep rooted culture with tradition which need to be preserved for our future identity.

Bomdila MLA Dongru Siongju graced the occasion as Guest of Honour while Brigadier Pratap Malik Commander of the 5 that Mountain Division attended the festival as the Special Guest.

Adu Khanam, chairman Pham kho Sowai Festival cum Chairman of the All Bugun Welfare Society also addressed the gathering.
