Fire destroys 2 kutcha barracks

ITANAGAR, SEP 10:

Two kutcha barracks with total 30 small rooms, 6 rooms of which had CGI sheet roofs and half bricks walls, were destroyed in a devastating fire that broke out on Tuesday evening at Ganga village, Itanagar.

Five cylinder gases were also burnt down in the fire mishap that broke out at about 6.30 pm. The cause of fire is suspected to be electric short but the matter is under investigation now. No loss of life has also been reported, Tumme Amo, SP Capital informed.

He said that a fire tender was immediately rushed to the village on receiving information of the fire. The nearby Nakas and PCRs mostly from officers and jawans of 138 Bn CRPF, Senki were also rushed in with the Night Emergency Duty Officer of Itanagar Police Station, ASI AK Jha to assist the fire teams to control and douse the fire, the SP added.

Two fire tenders led by Fire Station Officer Koj Taro and Sub Fire Officer, Horda Lona, were put in to douse the fire on time. The first fire tender reached within about 15-20 minutes of receipt of the report despite traffic congestion. Public also rendered assistance to the police and fire teams to control the fire, the SP informed.
