Taki visits farms, stresses on optimal production


Tage Taki, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development (AHV&DD) visited various departmental farms today along with Director AHV&DD and senior officials.

At the central pig breeding farm, Karsingsa, the minister urged the officers concerned to utilize the resources optimally to produce more improved verities of piglets.

While visiting the Arun Dairy Farm in Karsingsa, Taki emphasized on selection of genuine and needy beneficiaries. He also assured to look after the grievances of the farm and do the needful to mitigate them.

The Minister also visited the Central Poultry Farm Nirjuli and Central Cattle Breeding Farm. He directed the officers to work sincerely and assured to take initiatives to mitigate the shortcomings of the farm.

Later, Taki had a review meeting with officers of the department at the conference hall of the Directorate. He was briefed about the present status of the activities being carried out by the department by Dr ND Minto, Director, AHV.

During the discussion, the minister directed the officers of the department to prepare the annual action plan for all the activities for obtaining sanction from GOI under CSS properly and meticulously. He has also emphasised the need for creating a layer farm, pork processing units, large scale livestock, feed mill and upgrading the existing veterinary infrastructure in the department.

Taki urged the officers to innovative plans for upgrading the livelihood for land less farmers through AH activities.
