Two ministers attend Jal Ministry meet

NEW DELHI, JUN 11:

Two ministers from the state Water Resources and Sports & Youth Affairs minister Mama Natung and PHE & Water supply and Department of TCL minister Wangki Lowang attended the meeting convened by the new Jal Shakti ministry today in the national capital.

The meeting was also attended by all other state ministers on water conservation, rural drinking water supply and Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen), headed by Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat along with U P Singh, Secretary Water Resources and Parameswaran Iyer, Secretary of Water resources and drinking water.

Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister informed that the government is soon launching the Jal Jeevan Mission-Nal se Jal wherein the govt will strive for increasing the piped water connections from current 18 percent to 100 percent by 2024.

The Jal Ministry heard out the deliberations of all states and assured to address international and inter-states water disputes.
